The Story behind the Portrait

Luciano Pavarotti was in New York's Central Park with his daughter Alice. The artist, Margaret Rose, took some photos of them in a relaxed moment. Back in Los Angeles, the photos inspired her to do a portrait of Pavarotti and Alice. She called the Maestro, who accepted with enthusiasm the portrayal of he and his daughter .

Please note the changes that the painter did from the photo to the painting. The background has been changed to a nice country setting, Alice has a doll in her arms, the stroller has been made smaller and the Maestro is sitted in a more comfortable position.

The painting is in the collection of the Pavarotti family.
